What Kekii is
Kekii is a free, unofficial web app to watch Twitch streams and use their chat with 7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ emotes. It is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Twitch Interactive, Inc., 7TV, BetterTTV or FrankerFaceZ. Twitch is a trademark of Twitch Interactive, Inc.
Logging in with Twitch
To chat and use other features, you can log in with your Twitch account. Login happens on the official Twitch page: Kekii never sees or stores your password. Twitch gives the app an access permission (token) that is stored only in your browser's storage.
That permission is only used for the features you ask for, for example:
- Reading and writing in chat.
- Seeing the channels you follow and your subscriptions.
- Seeing your Twitch emotes.
- Sending and receiving whispers (private messages).
Data stored on your device
To make the app convenient, the following is stored in your browser's local storage (never on a Kekii server):
- Your Twitch access permission and username.
- Recent channels, recent emotes and preferences (language, tabs, etc.).
- Whispers and mentions you receive while the app is open.
Third-party services
Kekii connects directly from your device to these services to show content. Each has its own privacy policy and, like any website, may see technical data such as your IP address:
- Twitch: video, chat, login and channel data.
- 7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ: channel emotes.
- recent-messages.robotty.de: chat messages from before you joined.
- logs.ivr.fi: a user's public message history, only when you ask for it.
- api.ivr.fi: public channel data (picture, whether it's live and title) when you're not logged in.
- GitHub Pages: hosts the Kekii website.
What Kekii does not do
- It does not use analytics or tracking tools.
- It does not show ads of its own.
- It does not sell or share data with anyone.
You can check it
Kekii’s code is visible on GitHub, so anyone can review what the app does and confirm what this page explains.
How to delete your data
- Logging out of Kekii removes the Twitch permission from your device.
- To delete everything: in Chrome, tap the lock next to the address → Site settings → Clear data.
- To revoke access from Twitch: on twitch.tv go to Settings → Connections and disconnect the app.
Minimum age
Kekii uses Twitch accounts, so Twitch's terms apply, including its minimum age.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page and the date above will be updated.
